Reflect, connect, and weave together the village that will truly support you during postpartum.
It’s inspired by universal traditions of gathering in community to celebrate and support mothers in their birth and postpartum journeys.
This matters because mothers deserve to be witnessed, honoured, and supported as they cross into one of the most powerful transitions of their lives.
Unlike a baby shower, this gathering centres you by honouring you in this rite of passage + lovingly calling your village into action to support you.
This shift in focus is important: when your community understands your needs and the significance of this transition, they are far better prepared to support you meaningfully in postpartum.
Your guests receive something powerful too: a deeper connection with you and each other, clarity on how to truly support you, and the sense of being part of a meaningful, shared commitment.
This creates the foundations of your postpartum village before your baby arrives, helping your loved ones step confidently into the roles you need them to hold.
They leave feeling inspired, confident and honoured to be woven more tightly into your village.
You leave knowing that support, nourishment, and community are already in motion for your postpartum season.
Whether it’s your first baby or fourth
Whether you identify as spiritual or not
Whether you see yourself as creative or not
Whether you feel comfortable in the spotlight or not
Whether you have a big or small circle of loved ones
It’s specifically tailored to your personality, wants and needs.
✔ A 1:1 planning consult to tailor the ceremony to you (up to 30 mins)
✔ A 2.5-hour gathering
✔ Altar set up and decorations
✔ Guided intention-setting for you and your guests (reflections, affirmations, well wishes for postpartum)
✔ Rituals + creative expression such as poetry, scrapbooking or vision boards, candle or bead rituals, affirmation card making, or a red thread ceremony (supplies provided)
✔ Keepsakes to carry into birth and postpartum (beads, affirmation cards, threads, written messages)
Guests are invited to bring a plate of finger food as part of the ceremony. This is a simple, tangible way for them to practice showing up for you, and for you to practice receiving.
Mother Blessings are sometimes confused with “Blessingways,” which are sacred ceremonies belonging to the Navajo (Diné) People. A traditional Blessingway is a protected cultural practice that can only, and should only, be carried out by trained Navajo ceremonial leaders.
The Mother Blessing I offer is not a Blessingway, nor a reproduction of one. It does not use Navajo rituals, songs, prayers, symbols, language, or cultural practices.
Every element is chosen with care to ensure the ceremony is culturally neutral, respectful, and not appropriative.
Not at all. Mother Blessings are not a one-size-fits-all experience. They’re carefully tailored to you during your planning consult so everything feels aligned with your personality, values, and comfort level. Nothing is included unless it feels right for you.
The space is gentle, grounded, and supportive, never performative. You won’t be put on the spot or asked to recite anything. Your ceremony is shaped around your comfort levels, and your role is simply to receive connection and care in a way that feels comfortable.
Guests may arrive unsure, but most leave deeply moved.
Mother Blessings often become cherished memories of bonding, reflection, and support. Many guests walk away feeling grateful for being invited into something so meaningful, and confident with a clearer understanding of how to support you in postpartum.
It can, but it doesn’t have to. Some families choose both.
A Mother Blessing serves a different purpose: it centres you, honours the rite of passage you’re stepping into, and gently prepares your village for postpartum support rather than focusing on baby gifts.
Absolutely. Some of the most powerful ceremonies happen in small, intimate circles. Fewer people often means deeper connection, more presence, and more heartfelt support.
This ceremony is not a Blessingway and does not include any Navajo (Diné) rituals, songs, symbols, or practices. Every element has been intentionally chosen to remain culturally neutral, deeply respectful and not appropriative.
I get it (truly). Investing in support can feel big, especially when you're already investing in prams, car seats, bassinets etc for the baby. And since this kind of support isn’t yet the norm, it’s normal to pause before saying yes.
A few things to consider as you decide whether this stretch is possible:
· Tailored payment plans are always available.
· If you’re also interested in postpartum care, this ceremony can be added for $300 (instead of $350 when purchased separately).
You’re investing in:
Prams and baby gear eventually get packed away. But the value of birth and postpartum support lasts- impacting your baby and your family for life.
If this feels aligned but financially tight, please reach out + we can explore solutions together.
While you can DIY, having a skilled guide transforms the depth, ease, and meaning of the experience.
Here’s what it means when I facilitate:
A DIY gathering can be lovely but a facilitated Mother Blessing allows you to be fully held, seen, and supported in a way that’s difficult to recreate on your own.
