FEAR RELEASE ON DEMAND

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

We all have negative associations with birth, engrained by the media’s sensationalist portrayal of birth and/or negative stories shared in our communities.

When we approach birth with this negative conditioning, we are understandably quick to fear it.

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

Fear activates the fight or flight response, where the body sends oxygen to our limbs and produces adrenaline so we are ready to fight or to run. The body cannot effectively produce oxytocin (which drives labor) and endorphins (ie natural pain relief) with the simultaneous production of adrenaline.

With less oxygen and helpful hormones, our uterus tenses and struggles to function with the efficiency it is capable of.

IMPORTANCE OF RELEASING FEARS

This tension causes pain, which causes more fear and the cycle repeats. When perceived under threat, the body can even stall labour until you feel safe again.

Hypnobirthing reconditions you to approach birth with a positive mindset (ie reducing your fears) and trains your mind to relax and produce helpful hormones in the face of fear (or when that fight/flight response is triggered.)

Fear release is one of the many techniques we use.

Let’s begin with a short meditation to ground ourselves

Then, grab two pieces of paper, a pencil/pen, and anything else you need to settle in (eg a cup of tea) and journal

And to close, I'd like to walk us through a (longer) guided fear release meditation

Thank you for supporting a small, mother-led business. For each pruchase over $50, we plant 1 tree & donate 1% of our profits to a cause in the pregnancy, birth and/or postpartum space.

We acknowledge that we operate on unceded, sovereign Aboriginal land and pay our deepest respects to Dharug Elders past and present. We also acknowledge the knowledge and practices relating to birth which have been passed on from Traditional Owners across the lands and waterways of Australia since time immemorial.
